Bob Hudson Scale Aerobatics Achievement Award

The "Bob Hudson Achievement Award for Canadian Scale Aerobatics" was created in 2008 to acknowledge achievements made by Canadian Scale Aerobatic pilots.

The inaugural award was presented to Bob Hudson himself by Sam Filipelli in August 2008 during the Canadian Scale Aerobatic Nationals banquet in Sudbury.

Through his efforts Bob was instrumental helping to organize the Scale Aerobatic community in Canada. The seed which he planted was nurtured by many and has grown into the strong aerobatic community we now enjoy today.

Nomination packages for 2012 will be accepted until August 12, 2012
  • Anyone may nominate someone by sending the following to the chair of the Scale Aerobatics committee by email  ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) by submitting a nomination letter (up to 2 pages) and up to 2 reference letters (up to 2 pages each) written by others, both addressing the award criteria outlined below. The nominee may be consulted while choosing the referees and drafting the nomination, however, the responsibility to submit the nomination package lies with the nominator.
  • The Scale Aerobatics committee members will review the nominations and vote on a recipient. The chair will have a tie-breaking vote if necessary.
  • The recipient will be announced at the banquet of the Scale Aerobatic Nats.
  • Anyone participating in the Scale Aerobatics community in Canada in some way may be nominated. Past winners and the current Scale Aerobatics chair (due to nomination process oversight) are not eligible for nomination.
